RFC000 Rural Financial Counselling Specialisation

This specialisation will help you develop skills to work with rurally based clients to set goals and budgets. Using a client-focused financial counselling process you will explore ways to help clients achieve their financial goals and manage what at times can be difficult situations.

    This fee includes all learning and assessment resources, online support and assessment services for a period of six months.

What does a Rural Financial Counsellor do?

A Rural Financial Counsellor works for community agencies in all states and territories, providing free, independent and confidential information to assist people in financial difficulty. A Rural Financial Counsellor can negotiate repayment arrangements with creditors on the client’s behalf, help them apply for a financial hardship variation on bills or repayments, explain debt recovery procedures or help clients access additional services for further help.


Course Structure

This specialisation is a nationally recognised qualification which requires the successful completion of three units over a six month period.

Note: When selected as elective units, as part of the two year CHC51115 Diploma of Financial Counselling, the successful completion of the three units of Rural Specialisation qualifies the recipient for the award of Diploma of Financial Counselling (Rural).

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Please note that this course is open to anyone living in Australia. It is not available to any residents living outside of Australia. The eligibility of students will be confirmed during the enrolment process.
