Diploma of Chaplaincy Pathway
Diploma of Chaplaincy
Starting with a Diploma of Chaplaincy, students can gain fast-tracked admission and advance through various program levels, eventually reaching a Bachelor degree, if desired. Students typically enrol in the lowest next award level and move upwards, meaning that the next step for someone who holds a Diploma of Chaplaincy is to enrol in the Diploma in Theology.
The Diploma in Theology has 8 units and you can receive academic credit for 5 units from the Diploma of Chaplaincy, which means you only need to complete 3 additional units to earn a Diploma in Theology.
Oliver’s pathway: In 2023, Oliver completed a Diploma of Chaplaincy. After gaining further experience working as a Chaplain with The Salvation Army, he decided to pursue professional development through an academic pathway and signed up for a one-on-one information session. Oliver was excited to discover that this qualification meant he was more than half-way to achieving a Diploma in Theology. With five units of academic credit transferred, he only needed to complete three units to finish this diploma, which he was able to achieve in 18 months.
