Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology

This course is designed to equip people for ministry as well as enhance personal spiritual growth to live a servant-hearted and effective Christian life. The course covers a broad range of topics equipping you in a range of ministry activities in a church context and workplace.

The 10742NAT Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology is a nationally recognised qualification aimed as an entry point for Christians wanting to be equipped for life and service including those moving into or interested in frontline ministry and mission roles.  While all Christians wanting to learn how to study the Bible will benefit, this course is ideal for Youth Ministry Workers or Youth Pastors, Worship Team Leaders, Rural Ministry Workers, Children’s Ministry Coordinators, Connect Centre Workers or Coordinators (not Caseworkers), Bible Study Leaders, Ministry Assistants, Community Service volunteers and Christians looking to prepare themselves for local ministry and mission.

How will the course be delivered?

Starting March 27, classes will be held over 1 weekend each month on Friday evenings and Saturday's at our Sydney Campus. This is a blended course consisting of a combination of classroom and online self-paced learning.

2020 face to face classes will be held at our Sydney Campus over 1 weekend per month on Friday evenings 6.30pm-9.30pm and Saturday's 9am-4pm on 27-28 March, 1-2 May, 19-20 June, 24-25 July, 28-29 August, 18-19 September, 30-31 October, 27-28 November.

What are the units offered?

The total number of units required for completion of the course is 9 units (6 core, 3 electives). Of these three electives, students have the opportunity to select one (1) elective from a range of options to meet their ministry needs.

Meet the Trainer

Major Clayton Spence, Facilitator and Assessor, Corps Officer (Mission Leader) Campsie Corps, NSW. BSc (University of NSW),  MA (University of Sydney),  BTh (Brisbane College of Theology), MSc Coach Psych (University of Sydney)

Clayton’s professional background is in Organisational Psychology, having worked in large organisations in Learning & Development leadership roles. He is an experienced Leadership and Executive Coach and group facilitator and is most comfortable facilitating group processes, and working one on one helping others to work towards their purpose, becoming the best version of themselves.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with our Course Coordinator when you enrol.
