Financial Counselling Facilitator and Assessor

Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling), Problem Gambling Skill Set, Financial Literacy Education Skill Set, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Annette is an experienced Gambling Harm Financial Counsellor, having worked in the sector for 15 years with those affected by their own or someone else’s gambling. 

Annette has managed a team of 10 staff working emergency relief, financial literacy and financial counsellors across the gambling harm, family violence and generalist financial counselling across Barwon South West region in Victoria. Further consulting, supervision and training for new and current financial counsellors in the sector ensures her knowledge is current and supportive. 

Undertaking an 18 month project with Financial Counselling Victoria on Gambling Harm as well as other State peak body responsibilities has enabled Annette to develop a greater understanding of the wider financial counselling sector.  

Teaching is also an important aspect of Annette’s career now – ensuring we are supporting our workers to encourage their clients to increase their personal financial knowledge, create change and impact in a positive way.
