I had a desire to understand the Bible more and wanted to take the responsibility for my growth. To study something that related to my ministry, my work and my self-development.
Hi, I’m Adele, from beautiful? sunny? Wollongong! I am a Mission Events Coordinator for The Salvation Army, working as part of our Mission Support Events team to help coordinate WorshipArts events across the country and NSW/ACT Children events. I am currently completing a Masters of Theological Studies at Eva Burrows College.
During my studies I have learnt how to approach things with a more critical lens, knowing how to seek out information for myself instead of relying on others. I have gained leadership skills and have built my self-confidence within my faith.
It has helped to build an assurance in my relationship with God that wasn’t the same before. I have the skills to seek answers to my questions and have the confidence to trust my interpretation.
Highlights? My recent class, The Real within the Reel, has been a huge highlight. Getting to watch movies and see how that brings me into an awareness of the Kingdom of God was a lot of fun. Another highlight has been meeting people across the country in my online studies and then getting to meet them in person throughout my job. Getting to connect with people in different ways and understanding what they’re passionate about has been great.
If you are considering studying with EBC, then definitely give it a go. The part-time route of studying one unit a semester, has meant that I haven’t needed to change my life too much around study but get to enjoy it on top of my regular activities. Being online it is accessible to study in the time that works for me rather than a set schedule that can come with face-to-face study.
I love my experience studying with EBC. I honestly wish I could study forever I have had so much fun!
