Graduation morning tea celebrations 2026

It’s graduation season for our EBC University of Divinity students. On Friday we hosted a hybrid morning tea (in person with online option) to celebrate our latest graduates in a more relaxed setting than is possible at the official graduation ceremonies. Academic Dean, Major Dr Catherine Spiller, congratulated the graduates for their commitment to their studies, achieving this milestone and their ability to juggle life, ministry and study.

Captain Alison Templar, who was graduating with her Master of Theological Studies, offered a student perspective sharing about the growth that happened along her student journey. Alison commenced study while a soldier as part of her desire to discern the call of God on her life. She continued her studies through challenges such as cancer and the covid pandemic and has also transitioned from soldier to Auxiliary Lieutenant to commissioned officer, serving in three distinct appointments over that time. Her commitment to lifelong learning is inspiring and her intent to ground her ministry practice in solid theological education sets a great example for others.

Major Daniel Templeman-Twells (Head of College) also affirmed the effort and commitment of the students before offering a prayer over them.
