- Description
This unit explores transformational leadership that brings renewal and redemptive change in ministry and organisational settings. Students will critically engage theological reflection, emotional and cultural intelligence, and contemporary leadership theory to develop insight into their own leadership identity. Through self-reflection and collaborative learning, students will cultivate practices to lead faithfully, adaptively, and ethically in a changing landscape.

A weekly Online Class will be held via Zoom on Wednesdays 1:30-2:30pm (AEDT). Students should adjust the times of their provided schedule for their time zone as required.
We recommend that you allocate 12 hours a week for all study activities.

- Learning Activities
This unit employs a student-centred, constructivist approach to learning designed for online delivery. Students will engage with a variety of learning activities, including guided readings, case studies, video lectures, podcasts, and leadership tools, to deepen their understanding and broaden their perspectives. Regular online workshops and collaborative tasks will facilitate peer-to-peer learning, reflective dialogue, and skill development in areas such as emotional intelligence, cultural responsiveness, and strategic leadership.
Materials will be provided via the learning management system, ARK. Students are to engage with those materials each week and attend a weekly online classroom session which will focus on the ideas and concepts presented in the materials.

Upon successful completion of this unit, it is expected that students will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate a range of contemporary leadership theories in dialogue with theological frameworks that fosters transformation in ministry and organisational settings.
2. Analyse the dynamics of power, authority and vulnerability in leadership practice.
3. Apply systems theory and emotional intelligence to personal leadership.
4. Reflect theologically on leadership identity and vocation.
5. Design and articulate adaptive, collaborative and ethical leadership strategies to complex ministry enviornments.
