Contemporary Mission in Context will introduce you to the exciting world of mission in today’s Australia. You will reflect on what mission means in a diverse and global context and delve into important themes of multiculturalism, post-secularism, and the challenges of living in a world filled with different ideas. You will gain valuable insights into how to engage effectively with diverse communities.

- Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit, it is expected that students will be able to:
1. Evaluate key tenets of ethnic and cultural diversity that are present in contemporary Australia and the implication of this diversity for mission and ministry.
2. Explain critical biblical, theological, and pastoral issues relevant to ministry with people from diverse contexts.
3. Apply a missional hermeneutic to contemporary issues.
4. Critically analyse contextual factors influencing missional initiatives and devise strategies for effective engagement with contemporary issues.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of the key tenets of globalisation and thier impact on mission.
