Higher education student Jason Poutawa shares from his experience studying in the Worship and Preaching: Essentials unit.
“Worship and Preaching Essentials reinforced something significant for me—that preparing to lead worship involves more than preparing the songs and other material; it also means intentionally preparing myself. However, the unit highlighted how much more I had to discover in that space. It helped shift my emphasis from simply leading worship myself to intentionally leading and releasing our team, so that together we could lead the congregation more effectively. A number of worship leaders have since commented that our worship has become more Spirit-led and marked by greater humility. I believe this has come as I’m learning to let go, allow the Holy Spirit to lead me and embrace space for him to use our team to lead the congregation into a deeper place of worship.”
