CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence

This unit builds the skills and knowledge required to identify domestic and family violence, respond appropriately, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients. It is designed for workers who may encounter family violence in their roles but are not specialist family violence practitioners.

Who should consider this training?

This unit of study is for workers in financial counselling, financial capability, community services or anyone supporting clients who may be experiencing domestic or family violence.

Course Structure

This unit is a nationally recognised qualification which requires the successful completion of one unit over a three-month period.

  • - Values and philosophies underpinning domestic violence work
  • - Worker and client safety planning
  • - Rights and responsibilities in client interactions
  • - Cultural, family, and individual considerations
  • - Identifying complexity, urgency, and eligibility for services
  • - Responding to risk and threats to safety

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. This course is open to Australian residents.Unfortunately, we are not registered to accept international students. The eligibility of students will be confirmed during enrolment.
