A College for all Nations
Eva Burrows College is a college for all people—from many nations, many Christian traditions, and many backgrounds. We aim to be inclusive and diverse. We will support students for whom English is not their first language. We believe in women in ministry, and will equip women for leadership.
The theological and the broader education of Eva Burrows College is rooted in Wesleyan theology and heritage. Our theology is founded on the Bible and is based on the doctrine of salvation and the relationship between grace, faith, and holiness of heart and life, a Wesleyan focus. In short, we are about inviting people to experience God’s grace and to grow in their knowledge and love of God by living a life that puts faith and love into action.
We emphasise a missionally focused theology which addresses knowledge and practice that equips our students for social action and engagement with local communities and the world. This is an holistic approach which grows out of a Wesleyan theological perspective. We value scholarship and learning that stimulates the mind, shapes character development, produces lives that demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit, and above all equips people to live out their faith in the world.
As The Salvation Army we have engaged in frontline mission and service since 1865 while our colleges have trained and equipped people for mission, ministry and service for more than a century. Our experience in understanding the challenges on the ground and focusing our training to meet the needs for effective service is unparallel.
