Student Transition

Information for Booth College students currently enrolled in Sydney College of Divinity awards

The two Salvation Army colleges in Australia, Booth College and Catherine Booth College, have come together to form one national college, Eva Burrows College, within the University of Divinity.

2018 will conclude the teach out period for current Booth College students enrolled in SCD awards. Students have the option of completing their Sydney College of Divinity(SCD) degree or transferring to the closest equivalent within the University of Divinity(UoD). You are invited to discuss your choices with our Registrar. Rodney Smith. We are committed to providing you information to help you make the decision you feel is best for you.

Students who are considering doing a research essay or research project in 2018, should contact Research Coordinator Assoc Prof Glen O'Brien at soon as possible.

We would like to reassure you that we are placing the highest priority on student welfare as we transition to the University of Divinity as Eva Burrows College.

Eva Burrows College has two libraries, in Melbourne and Sydney.

Current SCD students can now access the print resources of the Melbourne Library.  Books can be mailed from the Melbourne Library to students, if they are not available through the Sydney Library. These books will be posted out via Express Post, to a maximum cost of $15.  Return postage costs are the responsibility of the borrower and the books must be returned back to the lending library.

The electronic resources available to SCD students include access to the Full-Text Theological Journal Database "ATLAS" and the EBSCO Ebook Subscription collection of in excess of 6,000+ titles.  The ATLAS Database and EBSCO Ebook Collection, can only be accessed through the Sydney Library catalogue using the Federated Search option.  If you require access to other Online and Full Text resources please contact the Sydney librarians on (02) 9502 0420 for assistance in locating these resources.

Currently, our online learning portal is called Booth Online. It houses the learning materials for both Sydney College of Divinity and vocational students. Over the coming months we will make changes to transition from Booth Online to EBC Online. While this transition is taking place, boothonline.edu.au and ebconline.edu.au will be active so you will be able to access your learning materials uninterrupted. Once the SCD teach out is complete at the end of 2018, EBC Online will be utilised for vocational students only.

Students who are studying under University Divinity with Eva Burrows College will need to utilise ARK which is the University of Divinity’s online learning portal.

If you have any questions or concerns about this please contact our online team on 02 9502 5014 or email online@ebc.edu.au
